A note from the editor

Why I'd rather have members than advertisers.

Morning Post is written by me and sent to you from a desk in Melbourne. There's no media group behind it and no investors. It's how I support my family.

For the last year it's been funded by a few hundred readers who chipped in because they wanted the email to keep coming. Membership is the same idea with much more in return — and it means the people I answer to are readers, not advertisers. I like that.

Questions

The honest answers.

Is the daily email going behind a paywall?

No. Never. The Morning Post you get at six every morning is free, stays free, and stays exactly as it is for everyone. Membership is only for the extras — classes, games, workbooks — that an email could never carry.

I'm already a Founding Supporter. What happens to me?

You were a member before we had the word for it. Membership is included in what you already pay, kept at your price for as long as you like. We're moving Founding Supporters across over the coming weeks; there's nothing you need to do, and if you'd like your members' key sooner, just reply to any Morning Post email and it'll be sorted the same day.

I've already bought the Folder or another workbook. Do I pay twice?

No — we look after the people who backed us early. If you've bought something from us before and decide to become a member, reply to any Morning Post email after you join and we'll make it right.

"Covers your household" — how does that work?

One membership, one key. We email you a members' link; share it with the person you live with and it opens everything for both of you, on the phone, the iPad and the computer.

I'm not very good with technology.

There's no password to remember. We email you a link; you click it; you're in. It works on the phone, the iPad and the computer, in large print, and if you're stuck you can reply to any email and a person (me) will help.

What if I join and it's not for me?

Cancel with one email — reply "cancel" to any Morning Post edition and it's done the same day, no phone call, no "are you sure" gauntlet. You keep access until the end of what you've paid for. And if you're inside your first 60 days, say so and we'll refund the year in full.

What if I only want one thing — just the workbooks, say?

The workbooks are still in the shop individually for now, but membership includes all of them — and everything else — for about the price of two.

Is there a pensioner price?

Yes — a concession price for pensioners and Health Care Card holders. Just ask; we don't check, we trust you.
